Rather than two long days of back-to-back presentations, we’ll spread out the 2021 conference program over four days February 16-19, 2021. This less condensed schedule will allow for flexibility for folks to manage both work and personal obligations while also learning and networking with wetland colleagues.
Information about the conference program will be added to this website as it becomes available. The below outline is just to give you a flavor of what’s to come.
The full conference program will be announced in early December 2020.
Tuesday, Feb 16
Tuesday’s morning program will kick off the conference and our special Watershed-based Hydrologic Restoration Symposium, focusing on hydrologic fundamentals and important considerations when planning and implementing hydrologic restoration. We’re bringing in speakers from around the country to share their hydrologic restoration knowledge and experience.
Tuesday evening will feature a virtual field trip film festival featuring wetlands from across Wisconsin.
Wednesday, Feb 17
Wednesday morning we’ll continue the special Watershed-based Hydrologic Restoration Symposium with an exploration of state programs and public/private solutions to restoring watersheds and creating resilient communities. Leaders from several Wisconsin agencies will share their perspectives on the role(s) their agencies currently play (or could play) in supporting hydrologic restoration as part of a panel discussion on how to move Wisconsin forward.
Wednesday evening will feature WWA’s annual membership meeting along with opportunities to interact with your wetland colleagues and friends.
Thursday, Feb 18
Thursday’s program will feature both oral and poster presentations by members of the wetland community in Wisconsin and throughout the upper Midwest.
Friday, Feb 19
Friday’s program will continue with oral and poster presentations.
Also part of the conference program: workshops, working groups, virtual field trips, a virtual exhibit hall highlighting our terrific sponsors, and lots of networking opportunities (yes! even at a virtual conference!).
